I’m not aware of any rule that specifically prohibits cycling along an MDL pontoon.

If nobody else is around, it’s faster if a little noisier.
If other people are on the pontoon, I would stop or dismount, as they are quite narrow.

I think we have found the deviant who likes to parade in lycra and shout pr**k to the gentle folk. You gotta admire his self righteous conviction and threats of violence while hiding behind a keyboard. Only we've seen these lycra boys and really, you couldnt even use them as a paperweight.
 
The golf carts of haslar marina have probably driven nearly 100,000 miles over the past 25 yrs and moved tens of thousands of tons of waste, sails, people, fluids, liferafts, decking, boats parts, emergency services etc.
No one has put one in the sea or ran anyone over. They are more common than cycles.
Some marinas are small and narrow pontoons, cycling could pose a problem.
Overall cycling in marinas does not appear to pose a problem though?
