Hi Folks

I know 5/16 and 8 mm are very close but is it ok to use 8 mm compression fittings on 5/16 mm copper pipe or visa versa ,for diesel fuel line.

Also is there any special requirement for diesel lines as similar tube is used for gas and plumbing

Many thanks

Rob

Use the right olives, copper is best, you would be unlikely to get a decent quality 5/16" olive on 8mm tube as they are quite close tolerance, you may get away with 8mm on 5/16" but why risk it?
Decent quality 8mm and 5/16" tube and fittings are available from BES at good prices.
