Or think of the town of Exmouth (West Australia) currently under threat of a cyclone with 300Kmh winds (150 knots ) in the next day or so. Yes it is 300km away at the moment but still heading south. We hope it will dissipate while out at sea. Fortunately Exmouth has had it all before and all buildings are cyclone hardened but about 10 years ago the yacht club was ruined with similar winds. Cyclones have been known to make it to Perth and further south fortunately diminished in colder latitudes. So we hang on to our hats. olewill
Thanks Seajet No real worries with fires on this side of Oz. But we have had some b hot weather about 5 days in a row before and after Christmas over 40 every day. Too hot for sailing unless you sail at night.

BBC TV has just shown pictures of the red dust storm at sea. Spectacular!
Is that anywhere near you? They only said it was in Western Australia.
11 days away is cyrstal ball territory. Forecasting at those time frames makes economists look good.

Vyv, the forecast is for the weather to happen on the 21st with the swell to arrive on the 24th. That is crystal ball territory IMHO!
