4108 engines fitted to which vehicles?

Thanks for the info. That is a useful site. I was hoping to discover a complete ( non marinised) engine as a source of bits. One small item that I require is the injector pipe to one injector. I would hope to be able to remove some fittings so as to replicate but wit new materials etc.

I doubt very much that there are any still around in scrap yards, they are over 30 years old, mainly in Hillman Hunters used as taxis, not sure about other suggestions. Even if there was some lurking about recently they would have gone in the pot pretty sharpish given the price of scrap. You best shot is to get some off us marinised engine or better still get some made, not hard I should not think.

Mine came with a proper box of spares (labelled "power" -something) The spare injector pipe is straight but the correct length and can be formed to fit any of the injectors. I think you'll find length matters, that's why the routing sometimes look a bit odd. Make sure you don't forget to re-fit all the clamps as well, otherwise you'll have a return visit before long.

Problem is that most modern car breakers dont really do it as they used to!
You need somewhere like the yard my boat is ashore at-I know they have two big cummins plus a variety of other engines just lying about-both marine and commercial diesels.
Sorry though out in NW Highlands.
What you need is an old fashioned breakers-used to be a good one on White Lund in Morecambe back in 1990s..
Is this a Perkins?-quite a few old tractors used to have them so an agricultural breakers is poss.and more likely to have stuff just lying around.
I do know someone who was Perkins mad 30 years ago and doesnt throw anything away-over in Doncaster-I know he still has bits of a BMC 2.5 I scrapped in 1985!
Doesnt workshop manual or similar show the run of the pipes-I used to buy them straight and bend to fit.

The pipes are just an example I had one crack on my previous boat and the current ones have surface rusting. Biljrat suggests that the length is critical and they should all be the same. I want to get some made up at the right length, bending to fit through all the original and marinisation parts will be dificult doing it in situ just about impossible!!
Also nice to examine the fittings to be sure to get the right ones.
Perhaps back to Diperk to order just one for starters!!
Thanks all.
