Avast me hearties!

Its time fer all ye rum fuzzled landlubberly scurvy dogs t'gather as shipmates and toast the high seas!

Cap'n Morgana has surveyed his charts, and studied his compass, and agreed that as fine a date as you'll be finding fer a gathering of such a sad bunch o' creatures o'the sea as yerselves'll be the 4th day of the Month of July.

Rest assured that y'll be found as wantin as a bunch of souls, unless ye be dragging yer rotten carcasses t'the place that yer charts'll be calling the Walton Backwaters......

The tides'll be as fairs at they'll be, with yer scraping keel marks being washed aclean at 5 bells on the forenoon watch (that'll be 10h30 fer yer landlubberly wasters).

In the god fearin year of the lord 2009, and the meritous date of the 4th day of July, we'll be a markin' the date, and givin a great drink to brave pirate brothers of the lawless nation of the land of the Union of the States, including Edward Coates and Thomas Paine.... so don't be forgettin' yer pirate Bourbon wi'ye stars and stripes.

We'll be burnin the Gov'ner o' any state that dare to challenge o'ur rightful place as master o'the seas.... so don't be forgettin yer wood and fodder and them furrin devices yer referr t'as Barbelcues..

Fer it promises ter be a grand night o partying, drinking o rum and dancin o'the jig until yer legs can be takin' naymore.

And tell yer mini pirates, untested nor trained a single one of the scoundrels, that they'll be hard pushed ter find the treasure that was so long ago lost in the sands.... but maybe the treasure maps'll help 'em from being tested so sorely.

Mark the spot below wi'yer X and yer crew's numbers fer letting yer fella pirates keep safe watch.

I'll start it off...

Morgana (surprisingly!) will be in attendance, with Mrs Morgana, and two mini Morganas (aged 13 and 10)

For those that are new to this event..... we'll stick more details up closer to the time, but basically, we have a big beach party with compulsory dressing up as a pirate, everyone brings a bit of firewood, and we'll have a big fire on the beach, and all bring BBQ's and any drinks you want, and all anchor off for the night... usually we end up with an instrument or two being played, and singing into the wee small hours...

We'll organise a few games and bits of entertainment for the kids.... and generally have a grand time!

Hope to see you there!

and also... from the last couple of years...

<<Rest assured that y'll be found as wantin as a bunch of souls,>>

Arrrgghhh, Souls.

We'll be fetching up the Bridgemarsh Buccaneers, and mind, cos its the Good Cap'ns 52nd anniversary, so there be an exztra ration of Grog all round. So mind the Revenuers are away that evenin'.

An here's another couple of pictures of the scum warming their sorry bones by the light of a sunset fire.

Not intending to hijack the post but just for information:--

The annual Swallows and Amazons event based at Walton and Frinton YC organised by the East Coast Old Gaffers Association takes place on the week end of the 6th/7th June. Starting from Foundary Creek, round Honeypot Island, down Hamford Water and back to W&FYC. This event is open to any person with a sailing dinghy, gaff bermudan or otherwise rigged. Usually well over 30 boats on the start line. Just plain good fun. Shore based events in the afternoon for youngsters. Allways been a brilliant event. The more the merrier.

Pictures of last year event here:-http://www.eastcoastclassics.co.uk/pics07.htm

Hope you dont mind, but I am also putting this on a thread in its own right. Also adding the event to the Forum calendar at the top of the post list.

Thanks for letting us know!

Sirenia will be there.
Scurvy swabs not yet selected.
Firewood will be provided.

The Captain will attempt to avoid getting a rope round the prop this time /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

However, you have again found our summer jaunt so we are again thwarted. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
In recognition of your efforts, we may have to take our armed rib to the Gulf of Aden. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Neil

Thank you for that consideration.
If you had managed to clash I would have still attended and the other event would be missed.
I am not rushing around again.
I don't fancy refitting Sirenia again /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I think offspring #1 is planning on bringing her flute... and is merrily practising 'The Liberty Bell' and 'Hail to the President'.....

I'm also hoping we can recruit Santana and crew too, and that he can convince his daughter to come along and play a series of pirate jigs.....

Unfortunately I suddenly find myself unavoidably otherwise occupied /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Don't you dare tell her I said that /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Only in my dreams /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Who said that ? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I'm not like that really /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep, we will be there, boat +6. All welcome on-board at some (early) stage in the proceedings for the official re-naming ceremony of "Mr.T" to "Pipedream II".

Well, may have to have a re-think on that one depending upon how many turn up /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
