3 NMEA outlets from one GPS??

I have a Garmin GPS and I run the output to one 'Nasa' repeater by the chart table.

I am considering running a feed to the VHF (stop the blasted alarm going off cos there is no position!!)

I am installing a new Raymarine Autopilot and was thinking of running the GPS NMEA feed into that...

Will one NMEA feed from a Garmin GPS feed 3 repeaters or will it all just collapse?

My Garmin GPSmap feeds a VHF radio, Autohelm 4000+, Raymarine C80, Yeoman plotter and Nasa AIS quite happily.

Several units claim a max of three NMEA feeds is OK, although I've certainly seen more working perfectly well.

I have had issues with output feed ing 3 or more nmea inputs - though not always consistently.

Depending which Raymarien autopilot you are fitting - you may fins that there is an NMEA out as well as an NMEA in - so you can take teh NMEA output from the autopilot and feed that into another couple of devices.

I have the NMEA "talker" pin on my Garmin 128 connected to both the laptop computer and the Autohem ST4000. Works great. I show the wiring diagram at:

Thanks for that... cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the ICW and East coast America. Loved Puget Sound - you have a wonderful cruising ground... I think it was there I saw a Boomer coming into its pen?
