3.5 tonne towing question

But as mentioned before, you can only carry a couple 100 kg in the truck with max trailer load hooked up due to GVW limit.
Unlike say the Izuzu pick up which can maintain its max load and tow max trailer weight. (as can the likes of Range Rovers and Jeep GC's)

Good point, definitely something to be aware of, but both the 2017 versions of the Ranger and Isuzu have similar gross combination weights as well as gvm and payloads?

My last word on this as I have lost the will to live. SVTech mentions DVSA. DVSA is not responsible for Type Approval, in the UK that is VCA. DVSA is responsible for driver training, and in-service testing, like MoT tests, and HGV/PSV annual testing. They have a part to play in SVA's, but VCA is the Approval Authority. As I said earlier, I doubt if there would be any legal comeback for changing the plating, as it is not really policed. it is the insurers who will play a part, if ever a vehicle is involved in an incident. Is this a risk you are willing to take?

If you have an ABC and XYZ will the approval include a BCD if The HIJ submits to the PDQ

For goodness sake use less abbreviations so people might understand

I used to do a lot of towing with my business and as I had an Operators Licence and would regularly send drivers to a weighbridge (after one got fined £700 for being overloaded) whenever I bought a boat (on a trailer) I would take them to a weighbridge and weigh then (cost £5) then I would know if what I was towing was under the 3500 legal limit,
Some people say that you are allowed a 10% margin of error, not every police force does this and even if they do its not 3500 + 10% the way its worked is if the trailer weighs 1 ton the load capacity is then 2500 kilo, this the 10% margin is 250 kilo.
