A couple of friends of mine would like to service their Mariner 3.3hp 2 stroke outboards. Is there somewhere on the web I could find a service manual to help them decide what they need to do?

very little to do.
dusbin of water
set up o/b in it & run, check water is coming out of the rubber tube out of the block ( spray from back of leg earlier models).
run for 10 mins, turn off fuel to drain carb & let engine stop when fuel is used up
drain & refill gear box.refill from the bottom hole, the top hole is the oil level indicator, when oil comes out replace top bunk screw then the bottom one
remove spark plug squirt in some engine oil & pull over to circulate oil, replace plug.
drain fuel tank
spay with wd 40 & wipe down.
store vertical
Best also to check the water pump impeller, located behind propeller.
Impellor on this model with Neutral and forward is not behind the prop it is located in the case above the gearbox on the drive shaft as it enters the gear box. You need to remove bottom part of leg to get at it, not forgetting to loosen the gear rod via the circular plastic cover above the gear box. This can all be a bit fiddly but patience will help particularly getting it all back together again. Just done mine a few weeks ago, of course when I got it appart the impellor was absolutly fine!

i have a Mariner 2hp as a spare its 30 yrs old with original same impeller.
ran it up last week when i winterized my Tohatsu 3.3.
put fuel in it went 3 rd pull. Ran for 10 mins then winterized it
Hark at you Mr Amazing!! haha
To the mortal world, inspecting and if necessary, replacing the impellar is one of the most important parts of the service. No engine cooling = no engine!
I have the manual in pdf form if you need it.
It is a very very simple engine though.
