28 - 38 ft Hard top??

Afternoon.

Friday afternoon means time for thinking about boat shopping..

We are just in the final stages of moving house and I be dammed if i can last that long looking from my living room balcony at an empty berth so i need some help!

Looking for something we can use in the Solent year round without the need for full waterpooofs when we head over to Southampton / Hamble for lunch.

Looking for something less than 39 feet (12 meters) and its for the two of us to handle. Not looking for extended stay on board but overnight capability would be good.

I think a roof is critical as we want to be able to use year round.. Dont want a fly bridge.

Our initial budget is Circa £70K but if the application of man maths is involved this could go up for the right solution..

Elan Power 35
Bav 35 hard top
Windy 35 hard top
SC29 (i know we had one previously so backward step)?
Protector Rib

i also really like the lobster boat style but very few boats of that style about...

Am i being short sighted thinking hard top? would a traditional sportscruiser with the heating on give us something warm and useable year round with the covers up?

finding something that both Mrs Zippy and i like is proving challenging!! all options are open so fire away with suggestions.

Wide side-decks for easy access forward. 2 / 3 forward facing seats for companionable boating. Large cockpit seating for lunch. Very comfortable saloon for evening dining and lounging. And a separate twin / double for when you need it.

Have you looked at Jeanneau Prestige 34 hard top? Nice boats and some available fairly close to your budget (although I've found the windscreen pillars can impair visibility a bit when seated.

thats the one that Mrs Zippy is most keen on and i have always liked them, as you say, small pool of available boats unfortunately.

Thanks everyone for the comments, the search continues.... got a busy week this week with the move but looking forward to searching with the cash in the bank!!

How about a Hardy Seawings, either a 305 or 355?

I'd endorse that. I've had one for 7 yrs. Very spacious and VP AD31 'bomb-proof' engines.

Have a look at the Parker Poland boats. We are into our second season with a 750cc c/w 300hp outboard having downsized from a 11mtr with twin 300hp diesels on outdrives ( work of the devil ). Hull is based on a modified RIB hull. Your budget would get you a new boat with 5 years engine warranty & 2 years on the boat. Definitely have a look as the quality of the interior and exterior is excellent. They have thought of everything and is a great sea boat.

Without wishing to offend anyone, but I will be blunt, the Parker Poland boats fell out the ugly tree hitting all the branches on the way down, then the tree fell on them....

Well if you are just hanging around the Solent, speed and sea handling are not much of a necessity I would think.
Most of the older smaller hardtops have a tiny sunroof, circa 1980s cars��
The Elan is miniscule..I mean the whole boat is....
How about the other way..a Nimbus?
Personally, I can't see the point in being wrapped up for a few days in winter and miss all the summer sunshine...dont you want 90 pct summer and 10 pct winter in reality...or just miss out a few months in winter and take the car and a cosy hotel ��That said, the Sc35 did really have a great trick up its sleeve in that design. Not much it wont do...

I agree with you about the looking of 750cc.
While I am searching some similar boats, a guy jumpped out and tried to sell me a new Parker 750cc.
However, I don't find any dealership in Taiwan from Parker's official website. I sent an e-mail but received nothing.
So, do you know if Parker Boats has official dealer in Taiwan?

On the other hand, I also noticed about the HP you mentioned here. I am curious about the answer. Would you
give me some hints?
