The scenario is a dayboat that is occasionally left on a mooring and owner wishes to charge batteries via 240v charger and also have access to 240v socket on board.
Rather that fit a full blown shore power hook up with dock cable, inlet socket, PCB unit and cable runs is it considered OK to use a set as used for camping as per the attached picture.

I don't see why not. The only concern I'd have is that I don't think those sockets are IP66 rated, so I'd make sure they are protected from the elements.

Thank you, What's your view of fitting a galvanic isolator, Is bonding the earth to anodes also required. It is a GRP sailing boat I think it has a sail drive.

My view on that may not follow the path that is recc'd ... but I go by the reasoning that bonding has to be all or nothing ...

Once you start bonding - then you need to make sure all are sorted and CORRECTLY ..

For your short term / occasional use - I would keep it simple and not get into Galvanic Iso's and bonding ...

My 25ft boat had all sorts of bonding ... but when I changed the engine - the guys who did the work asked me if I wanted the bonding sorted .., as they reckoned that the setup was in fact worse than no bonding ... they advised disconnecting and leave it disconnected. 20 odd yrs later its still disconnected and there has been no discernible changes to anything .. prop / shaft / pintles etc are all just the same ..
