Plan is for the boys to go sail, and push the boat a little, to see what she'll really do, and for the girls to go and take the opportunity to do some of the basics like going alongside, MOB, picking up a buoy etc etc without the presssure of partners present..... and thus build up additional confidence....

So no need to bring Still Dunno.... you'll be pulling strings.... on the dark side /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Looks like a good plan, will probably take Vreny & Full circle out and use Solene and SS as caravans if that's ok with owners. Bernie has one possible friend to add to the girls trip so that would make 10. (Well 9 for Sat and 10 for Sunday as Mary can only join us from Sat evening).

Hi boys and girls- I've been PM-ing to add my name to the girls list, but having had computer problems I'm just making sure that you're expecting me..... am i the TBC from last year??

I can't bring my own boat along, so hope you have a spare berth for me- I'm looking forward to a saily/social weekend and meeting you all.

( If it helps at all with planning/logistics I could possibly skipper someone elses if needed- get in touch to discuss my qualifications/experience)

phanakapan - yes, you are the TBC from last year... very sorry, forgot your id.

So that would make 10 girls Saturday and 11 Sunday if sweetpea comes along. Perhaps what we could do is go out on 2 boats on Saturday, with you coming with me on Vreny (as long as Bernie is happy on Full Circle). Then if it feels too crowded, perhaps we could consider you taking Vreny out Sunday and I will take one of the other boats if that's ok with the owners. This way you'll have spent a day on Vreny and can make up your own mind about if you are happy to take her out, and we are not asking anybody to let you skipper a boat without meeting you.
 
Vreny, all sounds good to me.

(PS I really wasn't pushing to skipper- only offering to 'put my name in the pot' along with anyone else up for it in case it helped; obviously makes good sense for people to meet me and for me to meet the boats before making a decision!)

Are we still looking at meeting Friday evening?

Bit of a long shot I know.

Problem: All my gear is on my boat in SYH. I was not planning to visit boat before the girlie weekend which is now starting from Burnham and not the Orwell as originally planned.

Solution: If anyone is visiting SYH this weekend who lives Cambridgeshire way, perhaps they could visit my boat, collect my stuff and bring it back Huntingdon way?

Any offers?

We weren't planning on going to the boat this weekend, but have tentatively decided to go down sat night (for much the same reasons), and then onto SIBS on Sunday.... i'll check with SWMBO when she gets home that this is still the plan, and if so, happy to collect your bits and pieces and drop them off for you....

I was going to collect it on Saturday evening after a major sporting event in West London. then go to Soton on Sunday. I will be passing within a couple of miles (now there's a familiar distance /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) of SYH and could collect your gear.

Doug ... sounds like you might be passing closer than Neil. I PM'd Neil with full instructions on the mission but didn't take a copy. Perhaps if he could copy and paste it and send it on to you, you will be able to see if you want to accept the mission.

When will Sweet Pea be able to leave work on Friday? Vreny and I were planning to leave work early (or bunk off altogether) so we can arrive Burnham in time for a bit of a sail Friday afternoon.
