21st birthday suggestions - NB

It's my sons 21st just after Christmas. He doesn't want a party but we would like to arrange something memorable we can do as a family with him for a day or even a weekend.
Any suggestions gratefully received

try looking at red letter days or last minute dot con for inspiration. Theres some pretty extreme stuff -<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.flymig.com/packages/> fancy a flight in a Mig or SU-27 Fighter </A> , Sub trip to the Titanic?. How about a trip to a sporting event in New-York, or somewhere like that?
Could always go to LIBS and buy him a boat!

Ummm, this looks familiar. I bet he will end up having some form of party, anyway - like ours did on Saturday when we were on the boat. They didn't realise we would come home early on Sunday morning to avoid the F8 coming up the Channel laden with rain.

A very surprised young lady appeared from the living room, made her excuses and left in a hurry !!

Him having done everything else.....I booked a flying lesson at Goodwood and then lunch elswhere. He was over the moon. Well, over the hill anyway.

Very familiar - we also came home unexpected late last Saturday night to find as well as the normal collection of size 12's in the kitchen - one pair of very pretty size 5's
We left home again at 12.30 on Sunday morning and they still hadn't surfaced - cannot think what they were up to - must have been bursting for a pee though!

hmmm, as he has requested a family weekend you should snap this up, probably the last family holiday you will all have for a good few years. Then you will only be invited along as baby sitters.

Amsterdam would be a great place to go, something for everyone, especially for you and him on Friday night for example.

Dublin is a great City, not too much during the day but fabulous night life, got to say I have never felt weary of the locals wandering around drunk at night.

Things you have never done for example, maybe cheesy;

Sunparks have activities all day over weekend breaks, I have always fancied clay pigeon shooting and archery.

Where is that place that has top comedians on all weekend? similar to above.

Hot air ballooning, but dunno about winter, maybe a bit tame.

Orient express - would be a stunning memory

Any long rail journey through Europe.

A joint is the only way I can face the bills these days. Something perhaps to do with fitting out a boat?
And my kids still only call when they want something.
(Post-modern English; joint= roasting meat, served with lovely roast spuds, nice veg and loads of gravy. Yum)

this is a great place. Stay at the Hotel Royal St michel. 24 hour cafes nearby. Tired of london, tired of life - but no need for the same homily in Paris.
