My boat has now 18hr on it, so i am trying to book it in for its first service,
My problems start here, We bought the boat from a dealer in Swansea, the boat is now moored in Loch Lomond, so its not handy to take it back to the dealer. I have been recommended a mercruiser dealer in my area, who i have spoken too and would prefer me to take the boat out and tow it to them., But i don't have no trailer!! They said they can go to the marina to service it but it would cost a packet and the boat would also need to be lifted out so as they can check the leg.

What should be done in a 20 hr service, I know the main one is an Oil change, but what else?, The engine is the 5.0 mpi with a bravo 3 leg, is it always comon practise to check the leg? and what do they do to it? Should its oil be changed?

Cheers...

Are there no engineers at the marina who'll do it? I seem to remember someone here saying that it's possible to have servicing done by anyone competent & not lose your warranty (some european law thing?). Many marinas have v.cheap deals on lifting/relaunching during the summer.

No the marina doesn't have an engineer.

I think the lift charges are £80-£90 EACH WAY
