2016 Scuttlebutt Cherbourg Cruise

Sadly absent again this year - clashes with a family celebration to be held on a charter yacht in Greece :)

Recommend it to any newbies wavering, though. If I can do it as my first Channel crossing in a 24' bilge-keeled gaffer, you can too.

Pete

I'll make an expression of interest, but it is a very busy time of year and I have to miss the last couple;

I'm definitely interested but I won't be able to say until closer to the time. Although it looks like my refurb will be done in time, it will depend on my success in finding crew/ liferaft, and ultimately given our size, the weather forecast at the time.

I'm in desperate to get,out of the Solent

Crew of three and would be inclined to go over on the Friday

Boat Sa Punta Bav 30
Derek

Most go over on the Friday. Often a number end up going to various restaurants in informal groups.

I try to sail one day and one day in port etc so Friday and Sunday will be our sailing days

Hi

Can you add 'Hanser' 28ft Hillyard - Skipper + 1 possible crew member (will confirm)

X Channel first timer looking to 'buddy up' with any other boats from around Poole.

Thanks for organising!

Beautiful boat and second your compliment to Sailfree. Plenty of peeps en route to swing by for company, or more importantly to advise on plans. Look forward to meeting you + crew !

Now looks like I won't be making it this year. Got to take cabbage No.2 and pony down to Cornwall that weekend to Uni.

Would love to make it but Daughter is due to give birth on the 10th so looking dodgy .. Regards to you all ... Ken ⛵⚓️

Hi Dom
Likewise looking forward to meeting you and others. I am acquainted with Colhel and LadyinRed coming out of Poole - there may be others. I'm guessing 'Hanser' may be up for an 'oldest, slowest boat' gong.

I think we need to encourage Angele to throw a sicky on the Friday. If sea is rough you could be sick so not fibbing!

I will be there after all, but without Angele. Thanks to a very kind offer I'm catching the ferry over on Saturday and I'm Dom's cabin boy for the return leg. :)

I know my place...

p.s. Sailfree, it was good to bump into you in Cherbourg last Friday.

I think that title will be mine! If the wind is favourable I might just be able to make the crossing from yarmouth in under 16 hours.
