Seriously considering modifying my eber fuel feed, such that I can easily plumb in a portable tank. I lasted a winter on portable tank, so don't see why I can't do it again.
I'd keep the existing tank for engine fuel, and use the portable for the eber. Thus I can throw it in the back of the car and take it to wherever the fuel source is. I envisage only marine/red/white whatever diesel in one grade only being available at marinas etc.
How secure does an 'interlock' to prevent heating oil getting into the engine, have to be to satisfy the Customs & Excise men?
I estimate that if I fit a new 5 gallon tank, it'll take over a decade to pay for itself, at current rate of usage, so I'll continue the practice of sailing on and off the mooring where possible instead.
