[ QUOTE ]
Two stroke engines are prohibited since more than a year in the EU
[/ QUOTE ] But you can continue to use existing ones and IIRC dealers are permitted to sell the ones they had in stock when the restriction came into force. Stocks must be running low by now!
Yep 2 strokes are like rocking horse poo at the moment - but still legal - (cant believe it causes any more pollution than the average bunker barge flushing its decks!!)
Any way - cheers No Regrets - I DID use Google and got loads of useless links to boats and outboards - all the companies still showing stock have actually sold out ! (your ebay link was not one of the googled links!)
I have two seagulls perhaps i should buy a new one before they sell out!Just to have a new model with FNR
Where should i look? The EEC ruins everything they are so detatched from reality The Idiot sweeds got tar banned then said they were wrong. To late banned

[/ QUOTE ] These things turn up now and then. Last October a brand new 40+, still crated as it had left the factory 40 years previously was for sale on Ebay. Sadly not with gears ..that would be a rare find especially as I think the best the 40+ ever had was a clutch, no reverse gear.
It may not have been a serious question but you got a semi-serious answer!
I was under the impression that the new E-Tec 2 strokes met EU regulations? Not sure if I wanted one though, seemed hardly an advantage over the 4-strokes! Heavy, complicated and expensive.
[/ QUOTE ] I have not been able to check for sure but I think you may find that these are largeish engines with a fuel injection system and/or an oil injection system. Maybe a development of the VRO system used by some Evinrudes.
I dont think you will find that any small engines, with carburetors and using premixed fuel will be allowed. Maybe in time what ever allows these larger engines will become a feature of smaller ones.
