Firstly an introduction....
New to boating and have just picked up waveline 290 with a selva capri 5hp 2 stroke motor. I have NO knowledge for boating at all so expect a fair few Q's over the next few weeks. The guy i bought the dinghy from gave me a quick guide and ran everything up for me but said he thought the fuel mix was 50:1 but he hadnt used it for a while and said best to check 1st. We ran it up for a few mins on 50:1 and it seemed a little smokey although obviously cold.
I plan on tomorrow doing a "dry" run getting the boat inflated and motor hooked up etc etc and the following evening have a run up and down the river medway just to get a feel for things.
Therefore i ask what mix should i be using? motor is Selva 5 capri (98) btw.
any other hints tips would be greatly appreciated as im just a little nervous
