It's probably been covered many times before, but has anybody got recommendations, comments etc on 2-part polish systems.
My boat top-sides polish up beautifully every year with Faracla, a heavy buffing machine and a lot of hard work, but despite a couple of coats of polish she looks dirty quite quickly and the dreaded yellow/brown stains appear just above the water line, so I'm tempted towards one of the "miracle" products, but am concerned that "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true"

I used one of the 2 part polish kits last season (one tub with what looks like normal poliash and another very runny teflon top coat). I think it is the international stuff but i can't remember, it did a great job though, the dreaded black streaks just washed off with water and the shine lasted way better than it did with previous atempts. Will be getting some more this year!

Can you let me know which product it was when you get some more, please?

Re the yellow stains, they remove easily enough with oxalic acid cleaners, but the dream is to get a surface which slows down their return.

I looked and it was the international stuff I used, comes in 2 bottles, one is the main polish and the other the top coat, I applied the first lot with a mechanical buffer and the top with a rag, worked a treat. If you are laying the boat up for the winter you can apply the finish coat and not buff it off till the new season. I think Moose started a thread on this earlier in the year and he like the international stuff too.

Try Meguiars...

My boat only comes out of the water for a week every 2 years, for polishing and antifouling, so I've been keen to find a good polish system. For the last few years, I've been using Meguiars products, which seem to be both very durable and very easy to use (important for me because I apply them by hand).

After thoroughly cleaning and rinsing the hull, I apply a good coat of Meguiars #45 Mirror Glaze Boat/RV Polish, and polish it off. I then follow that, as recommended by Meguiars, with a coat of their #56 Mirror Glaze Boat/RV Pure Wax, and polish it off.

I started using Meguiars after asking the guys at Fox's in Ipswich what they used for polishing the immaculate Oyster hulls in their yard.
