Not sure of the details but 2 yachts on the hard have fallen over.

Looks like 1 went and took the other.

Fortunately no one hurt but someone was working on 1 of the boats

No wonder I couldn't get hold of Tom.

Was at Mercury earlier (by car, not water) and think I arrived just after they fell. Only noticed it from the bar, had walked past.

Struggling to post photos from my Android tablet so there may or may not be a picture in this post & it may not be the right one...

I don't know all the details but my son saw it happen, but I haven't had time to quiz him about it as he was busy showing his fiancée's parents around. More later perhaps.

I took a peek when I walked past. The one that got landed on is a Feeling, but I didn't get the type of the one that fell first. The feeling also looks to have hit the stern of the classic mobo, a Huntsman or similar. They also put the crane over a forth boat, so I guess that they think it's at risk.

I'm so glad nobody got hurt. Shame, but that its going to spoil the start of a few people's season :(

Would prefer to pay a little more and have metal supports.

It's my understanding that the boats were not blocked by MDL but by another operator, I am told that MDL are taking over lift and store services in may so hopefully they will provide metal supports. Having said that this could just be a very unlucky accident.

As previously posted I really feel for the owners of the boats affected.

Yard services at mercury are currently operated by hamble yacht services.

Looks a mess but hopefully no one hurt!

We berth at mercury, but get lifted at Hamble point. As Howard says mercury's boat yard currently operated by HYS, but from may this year MDL taking over boat yard at mercury. However the main reason we always lift out at Hamble point is the fact they use metal cradles for all boats. This is not the first time boats have fallen at mercury, and the common factor is no cradles

Looks like no Mobo's were hurt (and more importantly peep) in this incident so that's good.

Seriously, despite them being rag and stick jobs, I hope the boats are repairable or the insurance gives them decent compensation.
