Hi
This boating is one step forward one step back , having had trouble starting the engine at a remote anchorage and only got it going by using the decompression lever , the alternator was not charging the battery , then i read here that with a sail drive they put a relay in to turn off the alternator to take the load off the engine for starting, bypassed all that and the battery started so rules out alternator , phew , so must be relay removed it home for bench test its ok now head scratching on my bald patch,
back today and traced it to a sensor on bottom of engine under the starter motor where i suspect when replacing the sail drive seal they broke one cable off,(previous owner) this sensor
i cant even see it not to mind work on it my question what is it can it be removed with out oil coming out
any ideas please
Adrian
