1966 Thunderbird Formula Jr.

I would like to find out some info on a 17 foot 1966 Formula. My father (who is deceased) told me previously it came with a Buick V8 engine. They only made 5 of these boats as they were an experimental model. I want to restore it but I don't know what size engine to find to put in it. I remember him saying it was a Thunderbird, Formula Jr. If anyone out there knows what size engine it came with I would surely appreciate any help or advice.

I thought we were talking about formula junior, as in 500cc motor car racing!! Doh! Until you mentioned a V8 Buick!

Thunderbirds came with a variety of V8 engines (I'm assuming Ford T-birds here, correct me if I'm totally wrong) the biggest I'm aware of was the 390 cubic inch (6.4 litres) big block. they were probably available with smaller engines as well though, such as 351ci(5.7l), 302ci(5.0l), 289ci(4.7l) and 260ci(4.2) smallblock units.
