For Sale:

One thousand three hundred slightly used bathrooms fittings! Buyer must have a substantial vessel to fit them into and have large and capable fire extinguisher system on board! as they burn quite nicely!

Buyer to remove them personally, so must be able to work forkcune hard!

If I heard the radio report yesterday, they are not actually going to remove the dodgy bathroom mouldings made out of not so fireproof plastic but fit additional sprinklers & smoke detectors. Also stepping up fire patrols to every 15mins. Which conjurs up images of crew men knocking on cabin doors every 15 mins to ask "is your bathroom on fire sir?". Bit of an embarrasment isn't it!

How to set fire to a bathroom

Piece of piss.

1) Dim lighting to achieve intimate, chilled-out atmophere
2) Enhance by placing numerous candles on shelves, floor, and (crucially) GRP bath
3) Run bath, get in, relax and fall asleep
4) Allow candles to burn down to stumps and set fire to bath
5) Smoulder, crackle, Aaargh! etc.

Erm... allegedly /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Re: How to set fire to a bathroom

Never got to find out, as SWMBO woke up at about Stage 3 & 1/2, but the bath wasn't full, and I bet it would have caught hold above the waterline, rather in the same way as a boat floating in a sea full of water?

Glad we didn't find out, to be honest!

Loved the way yet again a Journo, skewed the truth this morning with shock horror headline on Beeb of,
"QM2 Worlds most luxurious liner recalled to Southampton today for emergency Safety Work!!" No mention of the fact it was in today and out tonight in strict accordance with its published itinerary? No wonder we never get the truth about anything. Paul

Re: How to set fire to a bathroom

Yes, of course silly me. Set light to the curtains using candles.
Maybe something to do with my 'classic' secondary ejamacation , and my basic instinct to stay alive, but with heat rising and all that, there really would be a fire risk if one were such a pillock as to put candles under curtains.

Are there people that stupid that go on that ship? Mmmmmm, worrying.

Yes, I always make sure I pack plenty of sodium before going aboard a cruise ship, I find it invaluable for occassions when checking the fireproof qualities of the luxury bathrooms is in question./forums/images/icons/smile.gif
