Morning all

I am tidying up the cables and switches on board and I have got to this item which has a broken switch and as a result is fiddly to turn on/off.

This is inline to the 12V TV and I am thinking, is it required? On my previous yacht this was done by a standard switch on the switchboard.
Is there a rwason for having these instead?
Thoughts please.

That's not just a switch, it's a circuit breaker too. You can replace it with a standard switch, but you should add a fuse too, close to the switch.

The switch/breaker above is available, although it says Blue Sea on it, it is in fact a Carling B series.

Thanks for the info, each switch on the board has a fuse so I will probably use one of those.

You'll be able to get a replacement one, and probably in a selection of current ratings, from Farnell or similar.

Google "BA1-X0-05-656-X11-D" and top hit is Mouser Electronics.
