My gas solenoid and associated switch have worked fine for three years. Now the switch, in the galley, is fine (12-13v to solenoid when switched on and 0v when switched off).
The solenoid itself, in the gas locker, clicks loudly when switched on and slightly less loudly when switched off at the galley switch. This is what I would expect?
However, the gas is always ON whether the switch itself is On or Off. I suspect a broken solenoid but I thought these things were supposed to fail Shut not Open?
Anything else I should check before replacing the existing solenoid with a new one?
Thanks
John
PS: Just one other thing. It is VERY hot in the Caribbean at present. Might this affect the pressure somehow to cause the issue?
