Hi does anyone know where I can get a new 12v electric motor?
Basically I have taken our shower pump apart and it is made up of an electrical motor (which I believe to be faulty) and a brass impellor arrangement which is in good order
Being a tight wad I don't really want to buy a complete unit at £100+ when the pump part is fine. I have done a search but cannot find much on both the forum and the internet do electric motor companies still exist? Cheers

12v Motors are available but it would help if you gave some details such as the make of the pump and also the model. replacement motors might be available from the pump manufacturer or it could be yours only needs new brushes and the commutator cleaned. Worst case is a rewind and there are still motor rewinders around - "yellow pages"?

Cheers Cliff
The pump body says that it is a Jabsco 6360-23 (I think it may be old) it is a bronze casting that holds a rubber impellor. The electric motor may not be the original one it has no electrical plate it just states that it is 12v. It is 100mm x 80mm dia with a 6mm spindle. I will check out motor rewinding in the yellow pages. I dont want to bin it because it looks quite servicable, you can take it too bits to fix it Cheers for the advice.
