Sandy, the absorption voltage is way too low, i'd suggest 14.4v, float is also a little low, i'd say 13.4v would be better. Definitely need to change the absorption voltage, 13.8v is typically the upper end of the float band, they'll never get fully charged.

The alternator is happily kicking out 14.4v and there is usually an hour motoring returning to my berth. The Grey Funnel Line (as we call the Royal Navy) has 'right of way' in Plymouth Harbour.

It was the 190mm height that was the key for me. They were also the same size as the 100 Ah. While the battery purists may have issues over that they have worked without any worries this year on both shore and alternator charging.

The Ebay listing is a typical nonsense battery advert, it claims the battery is EFB (AGM), which is rubbish, can't be both. I suspect it's just a sealed lead acid battery. Check the sellers feedback, i wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

Thanks, all done, I have ordered a new starter battery and decided to go for AGM, as Paul suggested. It's slightly bigger, but fits perfectly.

To be specific no, but about the same as my old 110Ah ones.
