HELLO CHAPS! BUKH SAILDRIVE!!!
I want instructions and pictures of the dismantling involved in replacing the rubber diaphragm. Please! There must be someone out there?

X-Yachts supplied 10hp Bukh engines and saildrives on the X-99. There were a lot (300/400) of, X-99, sold and lots of them came to the UK. From memory, which may be wrong, I don't think Bukh actually built the Saildrives - I think they bought them in. Again from memory - Bukh suffered some financial issues and X-Yacht discontinued use of the Bukh engines in the X-99 and went to 'something else' so late medals would not have had the Bukh.

Another option for you would be the X-Yacht importer - but we are talking of 30 years ago and/or the X-99 Class associtiastion - if it still exists.

Jonathan

It certainly is a shame when this happens to threads,
OH come on its obviously a tounge in cheek comment, has the fun been totally removed?

Just have a look at the posting count liveraboard 1 post in 26 hours. Scuttlebutt 1 post in 24 hours
A few of us got 500 + posts in a couple of days on Practical boat owner with over a thousand views .
And you post sad faces, perhaps it's what you now expect from the new owners.

Thanks to all those who have offered a relevant comment on my original query. I never realised that I must be one of the few who had this DV20 and Bukh saildrive combination. To sgr143, I have been trying to avoid joining facebook for many years, but it may be, in this case, I'll have to.
And thanks to Jonathan for that contribution about X- Yachts. I'll follow that up.

Face book can be useful - you just have to use it for what you want, rather than what "they" want you to do. I use it for (1) keeping vaguely in touch with old friends now scattered all over the globe; ones I'm unlikely to phone, email or write to, but who it's nice to see once in a while what they are up to; (2) a few special interest groups , like my village's virtual notice board, the Westerly owners and Bukh groups. Installing "FB purity" helps a lot - it blocks ads and other unwanted stuff.

Ok, fair comment in your case, but as you know, there are some good helpful posts from the Likes of Tranona and others, I particularly liked posts from Latestarter, then someone starts slagging them off and they stop posting, so in the end everyone loses out, you must have seen it and know what i mean.

My main use is that there are groups covering Boat Scrapyards etc. - so many hard to find bits come up ....

But yes as a Social Site - I think it stinks ..
