Re: Holes. Greatest Britons

Mr Polo was his name.Sounds a bit foreign to me so does not count.

B.....y hell where did all that wash come from.
Er looks like a B....m to me.

Dunno who the Englishman was who invented the hole but if they'd worked for the Worshipful donkey Lord Mayor of London, they could have had a bithday party for it .cos that's what happening with all the holes around Trafalgar Square..

So that's it...... Livingstone in Top 100 Britons ...

Re: What about Crapper ?

Yes but they were British AND they managed to stuff it onto its nose.

I was eleven before I realised that all planes didn't park with their noses in the dirt.

..and I also would like to nominate LLoyd George...and Biggles

Re: What about Crapper ?

Of course you can, hel*'s bells , if they can nominate Princess Di , anyone goes.
However if he's a v*&v0 engineer he's disqualified apparently.

Strange thing is , so perverse are we as a nation, that she could win !!

...I wanna boat please..

Portillo is our man I reckon, at the very least it would give us some entertainment, can you imagine all the scandal.

I think we should chuck out parliament and go back to a true monarchy, get shot of whats her name and her dippy son with the big bacon rasher ears and get someone else in charge, proper autocrat is what we need, maybe TCM or perhaps Byron.

For sale, 1970 Triumph Spitfire-sold, 1947 Lambretta, 1922 Great grandmother, PM for details.

King Arther may not be such a bad selection. Rumour has it that an Arther (or Artos from Roman times) managed to keep the Hun off our doorstep for a good many years, just as Churchill did over one thousand years later. He was probably also more 'British' than we are today. As to whether or not he was a King and lived in a castle is a different matter. For my money, his (probable) achievements in keeping back foreign invasion are more real than the current media myth of Diana.

I thought "Union" Jack Hayward pumped in a large slice of the money. Now he has a football club to play with his donations to yachting are severly reduced.

"Foreign invasion and keeping out the hun".Crikey does this mean I have to send back my german car?.
Still think Brunel is our best boy at the moment.

B.....y hell where did all that wash come from.
Er looks like a B....m to me.
