Princess Di, don't get me started!

And how can Robbie Williams be better than Edward Jenner (who saved the lives of billions as a result of small pox vaccinations)!

And John Peel round about number 50, hey whassat all about?

Some people are just so small minded.

What I want to know is where was Jade from Big Brother 3, or TCM?

At least someone had the gumption to go and get The Great Britain back from the
Falklands.
I will bet you pounds and pounds that there where loads of people whinging about the cost of bringing it back.
Did you know ahem that not a single example of the Stirling bomber remains in existence.
Locally we had the chance of having one of the last Sunderland flying boats kept nearby. We could not even find of few thousand quid needed. It is of course now in the USA.

Re: 99 Greatest Britons

We will have to agree to disagree on the subject of that lady.
What about Sir Bernard Foster. We still have some of the worlds best architects.but they all have to go abroad to get anything built. All the english seem to want is vile little copies of what their grandparents wanted.

Great Britain was a private group, thus no media, thus limited comment.
If had not been private, we would still be having viability studies of how to move it, or was it detrimental to the local enviroment and further committee meetings, and, and
How can we spend £**************** to build a football ground ?

Could we put our own 100 together????

I'd like sir Alec Issigonis at least in the top 50, although born in poland he lived in the UK from the age of three. I'm sure that can be classed as brit.

Where was Churchill???

I suspect we had best not look to closely at the ancestory of many "Great Britons" as more than a few were first generation children born of immigrant parents.Curious that many sportspeople who were born or live abroad become english when they suceed in their particular field.
