I was sailing to France on a Benny
And attempting to winch in the Jenny,
When the handle, all shiny
Fell into the briny
And left us, alas, without any*
*(There was a spare one, actually, but it didn’t rhyme)
Couldn't think of a rhyme for "Carter". /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I should be on a fast cat off Portsmouth by now, on the way to pick up a charter boat in South Brittany for two weeks, but...
The people going with me bought a new Saab two weeks ago. They set out from Up North at 7am and got 10 miles before the car flashed warning lights and refused to go at more than 50mph. According to the AA, the on-board computer has put it into "Limp home mode". They've had it fixed (??!!) and they're on their way... another ferry has been booked and we might just make it if there is a strong northerly on the M1.
Would Portsmouth forumites please ensure the roads by the ferry terminal are empty at about 7pm tonight, and if on the water, blockade the St Malo ferry in case we're late.
Many thanks.
BTW Bon Voyage, Webcraft (in case any one's forgotten what the thread's about!)
Actually, this is grossly unfair. Steve was the model of restraint, particularly considering his jib sheet had already been dyed an interesting shade of puce......
IIRC that sounds about right. I hardly ever think about, other than whenever I look in the locker and see the shiny new spare (and even then the dark malevolent thoughts dont last too long), so you really didn't ought to be worrying so much.
