£1.69 fix for Volvo 2002 Calorifier fit

Well it could have been less than that actually.. I've been struggling with the 'bypass' pipe replacement for my raw water cooled Volvo 2002 to enable me to run a calorifier for some time. Having knocked up a replacement using 15mm copper i was struggling with the fact that volvo appear to have used 15.5mm in the original. I stand to be corrected here as measuring tools and thermostat housing have never been in the same place. Anyway, the problem was finding a seal that matched the OD of the thermostat housing aperture and obviously 15mm for the pipe.

The answer presented itself when a 15mm pushfit was found to be the cause of a very wet locker because the seal inside had dislodged. This seal turned out to be exactly the size needed to get a 15mm pipe into the thermostat housing without leaking.

Partly posted as despite lots of googling and forum searching I couldnt find anyones pattern to copy, so desperate was I that I nearly coughed up the £150 for a Volvo item
