Have I missed the world wide stainless steel, or general snap davit shortages?? Why oh why, are they, and the stand-off arms, so expensive ???? The 'technology' or engineering does not seem that difficult or costly, so is it merely the 'boat' pre-fix yet again ??? Has anyone any clever/cheaper alternatives?
Well that's my first rant of the new year, thanks, and a healthy and happy one to all.

We had ours made up of ss tubular, which is very strong for lighter weight. Cost was a fraction opf over the counter jobbies and we could also get the units to fit our transom ( canoe) and to take the extension we wanted for our dinghy. A simple dual block and tackle makes a good lightweigh falls. Having ur own design also means that you can add extra rings and other ottachment points for all the things you will want to mount on the davits once you have them. You could also make them easy to dismount - because they can be a real pain in some crowded harbours.
