Replies from a few emails to Cayman confirm many people rent out canal spaces that liveaboard can use and a marina offered a mooring for $12/foot/month which is budget in Cayman lol
Does anyone on here have any experience of the marinas in Grand Cayman?
As you may know I live on a yacht in the UK but a job has come up on the Cayman islands. Rent is very high there (£1500/month for small rental) but I also love to be on my boat.
Do the marinas allow live-aboard? Looks...
Hello, I note that this query got no replies... what did you find out?
A job offer has come up on the Cayman Islands and I wondered if anyone lived-aboard there and what the rules etc. were at the marinas regarding this? House rental looks extortionate!
For the people that this thread, and to whom it may inspire, I wanted to just write a quick update...
I am still aboard although I do spend half my time on land at my GF's now... Luckily she loves the boat so we are thinking of long term designs at sea. I cannot think of being on land long...
Sorry that I appear to have vanished... busy I expect!
I managed to sail round the UK from Preston to Essex last summer (via the Scilly Isles) and I am happy in the River Crouch now.
I am currently trying to get a book written (comedy) about the trip round and I will post a section of it here...
My fuel pump is leaking diesel from the amratures (piston things) on the top. It is a CAV fuel pump on a Perkins engine.

Has anyone...
I leave for the open sea and a long sail around the UK coastline in two weeks...
Two extra leisure batteries now fitted into my system and working well, and the front furler is working (you read it here first) after a "gentle" bit of work with a large hammer and a bottle of WD40 :)

Definately WSG84 and I know the handheld one is correct as the numbers have me in the right place in the marina, the other has me sat on the land about a mile away...
Most frustrating.
B&G replied saying ensure in WSG84 and to reset all saved data... I await my reply asking how you reset it as...
I have a yacht with a B&B GPS Plus system on board. It all turns on and seems to work find but it is slightly out in its positions which renders it rather hopeless.
I have the DATUM set to WGS84 but the North is out by 000.00.03 and the West by 000.00.02
Any ideas?
There is a manual user...
