After much thought I went the C-Map route using Raytheon Plotter and C-Map planning software. Must admit I thought C-Map was an Italian company, I do hear that the cards are much cheaper in italy.

I would recommend going further East than the CdeS to Almerimar in Almeria. Much cheaper and good chandlers

Once when I had the problem I found the backstay had slackened causing halliard wrap that siezed it. I tightened the backstay, unwrapped the halliard and it was OK.
