Skipper of a Bavaria 37 (currently in St Tropez) is looking for a couple of affable and competent/experienced sailing buddies for the trip to Almerimar.
No fixed dates yet, but we need to leave St Tropez between the 1st and 15th of April 2011.
On-board food, fuel and marina costs will be paid...
I intend to fit a solar panel to my boat. About 120w seems adequate as the boat is in Greece (where the sun shines more often :)). I prefer to buy in the UK and I am going for a framed polycrystalline panel.
In comparing prices and I am surprised to find such large price variations. Prices...
Apologies for not providing more information.
Two domestic batteries (start battery separate) wired in parallel to create one 12v 250 amp bank.
Hope that clarifies things.
It would seem from the replies that I need to have batteries of the same ampage and type.
Wish there was space for a...
Presumably it is the actual solenoid you are looking for. (As previously said, a switch is a switch).
I bought a new LPG solenoid from eBay. The type fitted to vehicles with gas conversions. It is installed inside my gas locker had has worked well for 3+ years now. (Example here...
Hi everyone.
I currently have 2 x 125 amp domestic batteries but one is on its last legs. Must I replace it with another 125 amp battery?
The ides is lodged in my mind that domestic batteries have to be of a matched size (i.e. the same ampage). Can someone tell me if I am right about this.
If...
I know the post is 5 months old but it made me laugh-out-loud.
Thank you very much - shame the 'virtual pint' is no longer available; I would have treated you to one.
Alan
Thanks for that. Not much different to Greece. (On the days there isn't a transport strike and the associated empty tanks of course; when tanker prices seem to increase by about 10 cents a litre.)
A bit of interest from the Camorra certainly does things to the local business structure, doesn't it?
Strangely, I didn't see a 'container port', but we were only there for a couple of days. Certainly liked the port and the working town, and friendly people, of course.
Thanks for the info.
Alan
Certainly didn't realise it could get that bad! We were there two years ago for a couple of nights, albeit in good weaher. Facilities seemed OK then, particularly with the town so close to the port. There are a lot of private berths there so I wonder how they manage in high winds :confused...
We are soon to leave Greece for Italy. Having seen Greek Diesel prices go from 90 euro cents a litre to 1.35 ish we wonder what prices are like now in Italy. Does anyone know the current price of (marina) diesel in southern Italy?
Thanks
Alan
Does anyone have info, prices, etc on overwintering in the harbour at Agropoli in Italy? Google has been little help so I hope someone here will be more help.
Thanks
Alan
Ours is a 2001 so probably the same. Glad to hear I am not the only one who doesn't have all the technical info at my fingertips. :)
I guess the manual is online somwehere but I can't find it.:(
Thanks for the reply and the link.
I wish I had more battery space for a third battery. I strongly suspect that one of our batteries is on the way out anyway and will need to be replaced soon. Am I right in thinking that it must be replaced with a battery of the same ampage (to match the...
Thanks for the reply Fireball.
Yes, you guess right, we need the solar panels to avoid having to run the engine for an hour or so a day to replenish the batteries so they would be the main source of charging.
I wish there was more room in the battery compartment for a third domestic battery, I...
I promise you all, I have searched the forum for hours and am still not much wiser (although that may be more to do with me and less to do with the info on here). :)
My Bav 37 is in Greece and I would like to fit solar panel(s) to her. She is fitted with two 120 amp domestic batteries. Like...
