Storage for boat on trailer near Windermere

Hi guys, thanks for all the info here. The best solution turned out to be to go to the likes of Ferry Nab, Fell Foot etc and talk to whoever you can. It actually looked like I was going to get a mooring on the lake AND storage for the trailer, but the moorings process is stupidly slow, so I've...

Thanks guys. Tried the Lake Wardens but no joy. Will try Maiden Marine and ask my mate if he's going along the Crook Road soon

Storage for boat on trailer near Windermere

That's actually a smashing idea as I'd like to get the old girl in the sea. I've been to Piel Island and the idea of getting there under sail (with a packed lunch cos last time I went the pub was still not open) is a great idea!

Storage for boat on trailer near Windermere

I'm going to give this one a nudge as I'm a bit desperate. The plan was try and move it next week, but I'm struggling with anywhere to move it to!

Storage for boat on trailer near Windermere

Hi Guys, I'm looking for either short or long term storage for my boat. It was being stored at a mate's house but now needs to move. The local storage facility is full right now, so the easy solution is off the cards. I need to do a bit of work on it, and maybe more over the winter, so ideally...

Best Budget 24' to 27' Sailboat

Hi Guys, after having got a Sadler Seawych up and running on Lake Windermere and single handing it. I'm ready to move up a notch. I'm looking to buy a 24-27ft sailboat either in the northwest (north Wales round to Cumbria) or Southwest (North Devon to say Cardiff). I have my day skipper and...

    Swinging Moorings

You cant just drop a mooring you have to rent one (the space that is) then you need to pay someone to drop a suitable mooring for you. The wardens can give you the name of someone, cant remember who we used, but, as with everything on Windermere, it wasn't cheap, but should be good for 10 years...

    advice for buying a Seawych?

I have sail number 323, grey top and white hull (now painted blue). Great cheap entry to sailing, people love the red sails!

    Joshua Slocum's boat 'Spray'

I love the way people are criticising here but none have done what he achieved. Blunt noses dont matter, its hull length that decides speed, and he built the boat based on a working lifetimes experience. To suggest he was given the boat for free, means that person did not read the book, it was...

    Rutland 504 or not?

Just a thought, a test rig I built to monitor a solar panel, showed that in winter, the charge controller was consuming just about all the output of the solar panel, so you could end up with a battery that was seriously compromised. I am looking at wind power to add the extra juice when its...

1.2hp 4stroke too good to be true?

Hmmm, I cant believe this is the end of the debate! My mate has an old 1.2hp suzuki on his tender and it works just great. I got my new tender last weekend (2.3m inflatable) and whilst okay when rowing, it was a faff, and a little outboard would be perfect. It's just for pootling around, so...

    Info on Windermere

Good info there, thanks. looking to get our Sadler Seawych on Windermere in a few weeks time, so will get the chart and have a plan for our initial trials on this old but brought back to life beater. Pity you cant anchor overnight, that would be cool, anchor off one of the islands, sink a few...
