    Covid excuse for poor service

Thanks. I'll try that. If it works, then another fail by EA, since all I did was copy-paste the email address listed in their instructions!

    Covid excuse for poor service

Having completed my response to the EA Registration Charges Consultation and submitted it to the email address they advertised, I received the following: Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups: enquiries@environmentagency.gov.uk (enquiries@environmentagency.gov.uk) Your message...

    Covid excuse for poor service

IMHO (which may be incorrect)... EA have taken their time and gone to great lengths to create safe working environments around locks for their staff, and Customer revenues have continued to come in uninterrupted by COVID (much aggrieved by licence paying boaters), so how can the EA justify...

Any changes or updates on Hammersmith

Apparently, the closure last Monday (31st) was due to remote heat sensors being activated on the bridge, which under standing rules meant that PLA had to close the bridge to river traffic until after the sensors were checked by engineers. I understand that this is now changed (it was becoming...

Any changes or updates on Hammersmith

Transited outbound on Tuesday, after being forced to abort and return to Teddington Monday (remote alarms closed bridge). The process worked very well. PLA very helpful, but note well that passages are being e being closely policed. It’s clear that communication between the pLA and H&F council...

    EA/TVM Mooring Signs

Wasn’t the TVM arrangement meant to be a limited duration ‘trial’?

    Tesco's Reading

I think all the officials mooring signs now look very similar. Whether they be EA moorings, TVM managed moorings, or other privately managed moorings the signs all have a very similar layout and colour etc. So at a distance look the same until you get up close to read them. Which for my aged...

Raymarine 215e DSC VHF Radio, on eBay

I can’t reply for PeterBoater re the handset, but the VHF Radio is still for sale on eBay. Now reduced to £60, +p&p. I also have a non-working full function handset, if Peter’s work8nh handset no l9nger available - the Curley cord has perished (common issue), so a new cord would need to be...

Anyone near Chelsea harbour want to treat a terminal 3yr old who loves boats?

+1 to help from Bray. The RCC post is a good one too, and perhaps something BCC could consider in th future.

    Bray Marina crane service

Valid points. But they manage with big boats at Penton Hook, using fixed crane to lift and a trailer to move and chock, so should be simple enough to replicate this at Bray too. They could even buy a second hand ‘normal’ mobile crane, utilising it in the fixed mode (ie with stabiliser legs out)...
