Been through it a couple of times this year. They have added three new groins to the north which are marked with yellow cans and lit. The depths in the basin are fine. Have not seen anyone going along side, just waiting outside and then coming in before the hour. Bridge is being opened fully...
Thank you all - pics sent to Imray who responded very quickly that they would be passed on.
The port in question could well have been updated a few years ago, I am pretty sure we have the most current pilot for that area and it was not mentioned, hence wanting to try and help.
Thanks for all...
The change from the pilot guide and charts is that they have pulled a mole out from the old ferry quay with an L on the end. It does a good job of cutting out the ground swell, but has limited the anchoring space. If you plan to anchor then the bay on the other side of the fort is still mainly...
Does anyone have any idea how I would go about contacting Rod Heikell?
We were in Astypalia, Greece in the summer and they have done a lovely job of upgrading the harbour for visiting yachts. I took a couple of decent high res photos and thought he might find then useful for the next Aegean...
I am not there at the moment but my boat is, I know a few people who could help depending on what and where the boat is.
Is it in the main marina, what is it, etc etc...
If you are trolling then speed is the quay. We troll two rods both set up with 15 cm squid on the end and 2 x small squid with no hooks further up the line as teasers.
Catch the occasional tuna (biggest so far about 35 kg's.

Hi Peter
We are getting a Cat (hard hat donned) and we are going to live on it and float round the Med and maybe further afield if the mood takes us.
New handle will be TwoDrifters

This will be my last post as Sundowner Portofino and I wanted to thank everyone for their help and advice over the years.
Our Sunseeker Portofino 32 Sundowner is sold and we are going over to the dark side and getting a SAIL!!!
We have loved the boat and had some amazing trips, but the...
+1 for filling the mast with foam, great idea.
Another good solution is duck tape and sikerflex, fixes most things around a boat I find. In this instance a liberal coating of sikerflex on the tape, pin line to a shroud (wire thingy that goes from top of mast to the deck) and wrap tape and flex...
I thought Met Check was naffed and has not worked properly for years since the chap running it went to prison, but that may have just been a nasty rumour
moodyNick - yes I think so, but maybe not the same volume, I think Berthon at the moment are about 1.13 on 60/40 split when you buy over 300 litres... but you may well be able to correct me on that ;)
either way a lot better on price, and the marina staff are great :)
