This looks as if it may be a solution! Is it?
Mate bought his Eber, and a new 110AH to run it. Ran into problems of low voltage/ high voltage in a very short time and for him at least it's been a pain. Currently he has hooked the new battery to his leisure bank and so now has x3 110AH...
My mates idea is simply to connect a charger and everything will work. The Eber doesn't like it and packs up after 20 or 30 minutes. He's out of the country at present and it's cold here. I went round to his boat, and without turning his charger on, starter the Eber. 1/2 hour later went round...
Without going into too much (boring) detail. We had our 1951 vintage tanks cleaned last year, fitted a Perkins water trap and twin CAV type filters. We washed the original rabbit fur fuel filter (true, not made up) in petrol and left it in place. No problem since. However, this coming season...
Again this is not primarily for me, but it does concern me if there is a way to achieve it without a Phd.
I won't mention 'my mate' but this problem is affecting the operation of his Eber heater. So, here we go...
'Garage' battery chargers are not intelligent, I knew that! BUT, I've got one and...
Makes my rant about my stolen £20 bike seem a bit thin... Dunnit?
TV last night - - scrotes attack farm and when seen they try to run down the farmers mother with a transit van, she was hit and suffered leg and hip damage. The young farmer uses his shotgun to try to blow out the vans tyres...
Here we go then! I just hope (as a none sparky) that I ask the question, and describe the set up properly. Reason for asking? I may have a problem on my leisure bank.
Our boat is 24 volts and 2 years ago I fitted 6 new 110AH batteries. Two batteries for starting, so connected in series, and 4...
I'm with giffgaff and it is definitely the cheapest. Unless it's changed, some of their 'goodybags' have unlimited free data as well as loads of talk minutes and hundreds of texts.
It's saving me a fortune
Thanks everyone, very helpful. I now know an approx acceptable SG and that the comparison of cells is important in deciding whether a battery is kn&ckered or not. Thanks!
I know that a hydrometer is probably best used to compare individual cells to identify duff cells, but out of interest, what SG would you expect from a battery cell if charged to full and in the best of order??
Happy Christmas everyone. :):)
Mmm... I've been trying to avoid it but it looks like the bike will have to live on the bow nailed down with a stainless chain, a decent lock and no front wheel!
I've been trying to avoid it simply because it's so awkward. The upside is that it will be awkward for the scrotes too. :(
I don't know if the following is country wide but around here (inland) marina t&c's can claim a % of repair costs carried out by outside contractors. This is in our own marina t&c's but bless 'em, it is not enforced.
The thing that really brassed me off was the fact that at 19.50 a mate knocked on the boat, and less than 15 minutes later the bike was gone. The security light in the marina is awaiting parts and I'd turned my own off because it was windy and the light was going off every few minutes.
When I...
