As described above. Current one, when switched on, there is absolutely nothing happening on the display.
I might give another JRC model a go, if the price is right!
TIA
My fridge on board has stopped working. When switched on you can hear the compressor noise, but there is no cooling. It might need re gassed, or I wonder if corrosion has led to a leak, which I imagine would not be repairable.
Needless to say, access is not good.
Does anybody know of a...
The bolt on top of the gearbox is a breather, to allow for expansion and contraction of the ‘oil’, actually ATF. Otherwise I think the seals could be compromised. Just had a TMC60A fitted this winter, together with a Beta 30.
If you change the VP for the Beta (which I have just done) you will need a new propellor as well, they turn in opposite directions.
Beta list an oil cooler for the gearbox so that it can run in the opposite direction, so you might be able to keep your existing propellor. I asked my very...
Just for future reference for anyone else with the same problem.
To recap, the ATF was getting aerated and coming out of the breather. This is on a TMC60A, with the 7degree down angle. To cut a long story short, a new gearbox seems to have sorted the problem, albeit only two hours running but I...
No I have never had that many on board. In my opinion it would be a very tight squeeze. My port saloon berth does not convert to a double, not sure why. The pilot berth to starboard is tiny, in my 13 years of ownership it has been slept in once, I think he was 8 years old. We have slept six plus...
My engineer saw it coming out of the breather when we ran it in gear, I didn’t see it myself. Might check it next time I am on board. Never knowingly overfilled, and yes, I know about the difficulty in reading the dipstick, I use kitchen paper! Yes, you can tell the level is dropping on the...
Had a replacement Beta30 with TMC60A gearbox fitted over the winter. Very pleased with everything except for one problem.
The gearbox is losing ‘oil’ (actually Automatic Transmission Fluid). It is blowing out of the breather on the top of the gearbox. Not in massive quantities, but it shouldn’t...
