I was led to this article today and I was very surprised by it. The US seems to have been somewhat lax in replacement strategy regarding their ageing satellites. Next year seems to be the possible start of GPS...

Having cruised the south coast for nearly 40 years, I can count on both hands the times I have stayed in a marina. Reading these posts, you may understand why.
