Caladh, I have the same pole as UK woozy. I ordered direct from Noa because it came with support struts and is thicker at 50mm. It’s specked upto 150w. Couldn’t find an equivalent in the UK.
Local clubs may have some knocking around, you could try there. To have one made could cost you about £1200 from when I was quoted a few years back for 26ft sail boat. Generally not something easily transported unless built with transportation in mind.
When I bough my first boat I didn’t know anything about sailing. Now 9 years in I don’t regret a single moment. I learned some hard lessons at the beginning but that is all part of the fun. I joined a local sailing club, which Is something I would definitely recommend, as you can learn alot, and...
Having just finished reading Peters response to the criticisms and insinuations regarding the Windpilot. It seems to me he has done everything he can to assist in solving the problems being experienced in the GGR. It’s apparent that the main issues are from incorrect installations and...
From what I know its not essential to connect to load. Only if you want to run something direct from solar panel like phone charging etc. Just done my first installation and relatively simple when it comes to wiring up.
Have had a Neptune 4500 for the past 6 years and it is still as good as new. Apart from a thermocouple being duff when new we have had no problems since. Would defo buy another one when the time comes.
Have to mention the excellent service received from Peter Foerthmann at windpilot in Germany. Ordered pacific light on Monday afternoon and it arrived today. He even added crossbar free of charge so as to get better line transfer after looking at the pictures of the stern i sent him over a year...

Well got down to the boat this morning expecting to finish wiring up the new solar panel but nothing ever goes to plan. First off, after already positioning Charge controller under chart table turns out solar cable from the panel doesn't quite reach so have to reposition in the aft cabin. Easier...
These engine are renowned for corrosion in the cylinder head exhaust port. I had the same thing happening and it was only when I took mine apart I could see a hole where all the oil was being forced out through the exhaust. Expensive rebuild. Not saying this is the case but a 15 year old engine...
Mines just expired, don't think i will bother renewing as no one has ever asked to see it. been across the channel numerous times and the only thing I've been asked for is ships registration and passport.
My boats been damaged twice by racers whilst on her mooring. At leat one of the guys went to the trouble of tracking me down and paid for repair. I know off other boats in the club who haven't been so lucky. When the racers are out they have little consideration for other river users and think...
