Flopper-Stoppers - Anti Roll Devices. Do They Really Work?

We have a large triangular piece of epoxyied marine ply weighted with 10mm chain on all three edges but one edge doubled chain to create an imbalance. It is quite heavy and sinks quickly and the weight helps on the upward roll. It hangs from the end of the spinnaker pole via a block. Does it...

    Marine 16 Diesel Dipper

Yes, maybe. Will check out Facet and SSL first. I did not ask the guy at Marine 16 about finer filters. Thank you.

    Marine 16 Diesel Dipper

Thank you pvb - Facet and SSL look very promising as an alternative at a fraction of the cost. I will follow up.

This solution is not possible as the tank bottom is actually a welded part of the hull. This is an OVNI 395.

    Marine 16 Diesel Dipper

I agree. Are you able to suggest a specific pump and filter (10 microns). I would probably buy the pick up pipe and fitting from Marine 16 though. Your help is much appreciated.

    Marine 16 Diesel Dipper

Has anyone fitted one of these, and if so any views? For the third time I need to clean out the aluminium fuel tank (easy access and I have nitrile and Hylomar Blue for the access plate gasket) and SWMBO has put her foot down and says she is totally fed up with the time it takes to clean up her...

    Sprayhood windows

We have a very nice sprayhood made by North Sails in Cape Town in 2016. It has three main panels of clear something and two side clear panels. The centre panel unzip and roll up for ventilation. Since new the many roll ups have left finger marks on the centre panel and no matter what I try -...

The Truth About Sailing On The Algarve

Re: 2019 Light Dues. Currently sitting in Capitainerie Albufeira and getting whamoed for €70 for a year. Oh well, we do not pay much for Portuguese public services.

    Rope cutter- any thoughts?

Another vote for the Stripper - saved us on two occasions. Service kits also available at reasonable cost.

    VHF splitter problems

Yup we started with a splitter for VHF and AIS. Hopeless - gave up and had dedicated, separate antennae.
