So, are these pics a solution to the spongy cockpit?, should i be strengthening like this under the sole, i was intending, after checking what has happened, to cut out the cockpit sole and replace the ply, then re glass. But i guess your solution would also provide a 'belt and braces' approach...
Thanks for the info guys, looking through images on google i think its a ricochet micro standard, that appears to be the exact shape and design. The gent ive bought it off has a ssr number for it and the sails have an emblem on (yet to see this)

You might just want some outriggers on that canoe, rivers going to be very fast running, watch out for farm gates and underwater obstructions

I wish the chap who last owned my boat hadn't used paint inside, I think he's used household gloss and I'm finding loads of moisture trapped behind it, i have the dehumidifier running at the moment and it's pulling a tankfull out every day, i've just piped it out through the transduser skin...
My folks had one when I was little too, and a heron after that, but the best boat for car topping as I recall was the Mail boat- it was dad's first sail boat and we learnt in it as kids- cathedal hull, completey made of polystyrene, light as a feather but didnt point too well as I recall, happy...
I bought one last year and have used it on board and also in my :rolleyes: caravan with great results, got to say, it's a little noisey if sited on a worktop, but very effective for the money.
Have you thought about making a frame and then fitting the thinner poly sheet into this?
It gives a more hard wearing edge which will stand up to a few knocks and in my humble opinion looks neater too!:confused:
