Since about 2010, about 50 mins to get through both. No turbulence at all, your moving vertically so slowly you question if boat is rising or falling at all. In the old days before the interlocked safety systems were added the former lock keeper managed to get me through in 25mins (ie pull the...
There is many things you can train a dog, but training them to not want to lay across their owners laps is not one of them, nor attempting to enter the aft cabin in the early morning when they are excited for breakfast and their early morning walk to chase birds. We don't have an Aga on the boat...
Got fed up trying to keep the two little Cavaliers down in the Galley/Dinette area using suitcases, so made up a quick little dog grill that slots in at the top of the stairs. Their beds are under the dinette table and they can see through the gate so don't get distressed. Knocked it up in the...
Sad to see this dangerous mishap. Very fortunate that did not happen during summer months, there would have been many leisure yachts moored on that visitor pontoon and could have been multiple casualties. We frequently overnight there. Pic below is the exact spot the trawler struck.
There is...

Yes agree but I suspect we'll end up with sail sooner or later. I've found a few full beam aft cabin yachts with all electric winches back to the cockpit.
Cheers not my photo, one taken by committee drone. Yes a Fairline AC43 and a Broom 450 amongst many other assorted Brooms, and other makes including dutch steel. The largest vessel was 'Bona Spe' more like a small ship at 70ft long.
There was an amazing new 3 deck chinese built boat there...
Shannon Boat Rally - 60th - fleet anchored for the night on the inner lakes off Lough Ree near Glasson on the might river Shannon. In the far distance on the top of the photo is Quigleys marina opposite the RNLI inland life boat station at Dunrovin.
