Well it has screw out caps for each cell so I assume open. There also appears to be a small vent hole at each end. Wondering if from there. Will have a closer look tonight.
Folks question from someone who knows little about boat electrics. Please be kind.
I think the house battery may be leaking. Fluid coming from somehere on it. Going to remove to properly inspect. I'l disconnect shore power but do I disconnect live or neutral terminals first please?
Assume I...
Can I please ask what rope you used? Although it will be fully submerged I assume the logic is that the floating rope will stay clear of the sea bed?
May I also please ask what put you off putting floats in?

Brick acid cleaner works a treat for me. Picked up the tip on this forum late last year, credit to the member who advised me. Easy, no effort and brings it back to shiney bright. Got mine at toolstation. Hydrochloric acid the active ingedient. Don't use much. A bottle will last years.
Any ideas welcome please. Unfortunately, whilst re-filling the gearbox with oil, some spilled and ran down into the very limited space under the engine. Hardly any space either side and very tight underneath. Have cleaned up the bit of bilge under the engine that I can reach but around 60 % is...
Okay thanks all. Opened mine up and judging by the color it appeared they had been greased with Blakes seacock grease. Green stuff. All done now with light amount of marine trailer grease and 3 in 1 on the pawls. Thanks all for advice and anecdotes
