Sounds like a system called 'The Dutchman'
which I recall had the usual reefing lines running through holes in the main. I am told it worked well but could spoil the shape of the main.
With respect, it is one thing for your partner to be open to the idea, but quite another to commit to it for two years or more.
Temptress seems to agree. Beg, steal or borrow a boat and try a few trips. This could save you a lot of money and heartache.

Hi Giles
I have a Trapper as yours
Single handed, I usually sail into a space and go forward and haul up the sails. She usually rotates slowly and I do the last part of the main as she points up.
However if very windy I keep two reefs in. I find this is all I need to keep up with my friends 22...
"Cherbourg Cruisers are off"
Could be, in the rush, they have forgotten the deodorant
Forgotten to shower, put on yesterday's socks?
Good Luck to all Enjoy....even without me!

If I were selfish..... I would be grateful that
the North Downs still exists.......cos that is where
my new house is...... I'll be able to moor "Miracle"
at the end of the garden by the look of
that map.......Perhaps I should buy a little more land
for friends to share etc

I shall be moving house next week.
I understand from the vendor that he has Sky, presumably a dish? He also has a second line for the computer (or PC)
I take it that this means dial up and therefore I need a modem
Please can buffs advise me?
Regards Briani
Yes I have a Jag, it seems like good value
However, For my use I keep a lightweight suit to hand and try to use it as soon as necessary. No fun being wet, cold and uncomfortable.
For a night trip in this country a decent breathable is essential.
Hope this helps......Briani
