The first wave are on their way, just spoken to Tome, he's just south of St Cats under engine, thinking about putting up some sail.
Forecast looks like a SW 3/4 veering W this aft

calm sea and fair winds to them.

cheers

Re: Channel lightship showing

Ain't that always the way!

You don't really need the shipping forecast. Just decide where you're going & the wind will either be sod all from nowhere in particular or far too much and bang on the nose!

what no Jimi

Can't believe as one of the Cherbourg founder members you are not there this year, was it the thought of long drawn-out conversations on the merits of owning your own sewing machine or the fear of some twister owning oil lamp merchant pulling your plastic fantastic to bits?

The public need to know! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just made contact with Paddywackcocker on his Etap 38. Now 11 miles of Cherbourg. Very little wind (7 knots when we spoke)and straight on the nose - motorsailing most of the way apart from a very brief period of F5.
