Any suggestion for the intenary??
Nat,
Will tell after I secure the berth - they are at a real premium just now and prying eyes might beat me to it. Where are you berthed?

Thanks for the pointer - I have been looking at joining the CA and I think this tips the balance. I did inquire at the RYA (of which I am a member) but got only sympathy not actual information.

Hi,
I am close to buying a boat to be based in a marina on the Costa Blanca which we intend to register in the UK on the SSR. We have a small house in Spain as well and are therefore NIF registered for local taxes.
Other than the marina costs, what additional charges or taxes might we incur -...
Hi,
I am looking at buying a sail boat currently registered on the Deutscher-Segler-Verband under the German flag. As it is <15m there is no requirement for lien or mortgage information to be held on the register and none is available for this boat.
The DSV in Hamburg did confirm that the...
Hi,
I have finally tracked down a berth in Spain but it comes with a Sunbeam 32 from Schöchl Yachtbau in Austria. The berth is perfect but I have never heard of the boat brand. Two questions then:
1. Any experience with Sunbeams (good or bad)?
2. Any recommendations for a surveyor for...

Tony: Yes they are still doing this milk run for winter sailing in the Canaries. I was looking for general background/experiences. Thanks for your info, I was concerned with routing, skipper quality, general organisation and boat spec. In addition, what were the...
Moose,
Yes. I have been doing the short trip sailing for some time now on my own boat and have racked up about 1300nm. I figure that this type of extended (10 ~ 17 day) trip gives me the chance to experience a different type of sailing.
I would be specifically interested to know if anyone...
Hi,
I am looking at the winter passage sailing offered by Sunsail as a means of building miles needed for YM. Anyone any experience of these 700nm, one-way (essentially delivery) trips ? Relevant hints/tips/suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks in advance,
Mark R.

Hi,
I am about to have our boat transported (by road) from S. Queensferry on the Forth to The Hamble and would appreciate recommendations (or notes to avoid) on reliable and safe service.
Typical costings would be a great help too.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

You might like to consider an LCD monitor with built in TV tuner/speakers. PCworld have one for just under £300 right now, it runs on 12V DC so you could conceivably forget the invertor/power block and go direct from the ships supply. I also think it does NTSC but not sure abour SECAM...
