Looking like im going toihave to replace my QL BP900 bow thruster , dead and obsolete , around 95 kg thrust ,options seem to be , Lewmar or vetus lewmar being 1.5 K£ , Vetus 2.4K3 ,, I know theres also side power but 2.8K£ and thats for thruster only . any have experience , advice on...

which did you go for in the end Im looking at replacing my QL and have same quandry , at my power bracket 95-100 kgf bracket the lewmar is considerably cheaper vetus then sidepower range from 1.5K £ to near 3K £

It’s. Sounds like something broken higher up in transmission , I see they are prone to breaking the drive shaft , you can turn propellers independent of each other and hear grinding rattle sound inside boat , this would indicate to me that prop shear pins in place and breakage elsewhere , think...

Can beat that , doing a regatta on a yat , the foredeck crew lost a shoe over the side , in a fit of rage he threw the other over the side too . Imagine our amusement when we passed the first shoe the next day !! Foredeck fella near spontaneously combusted with rage only adding to our mirth :)
